Dodd en Just\u00edcia i Drets Humans 2011, per la seva tasca en la defensa de les garanties humanit\u00e0ries a Am\u00e8rica Llatina (AL).<\/span><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: 10pt;\">La directora executiva de Cejil, <strong>Viviana Krsticevic<\/strong>, va agrair el premi a nom de totes les i els integrants de l&#8217;organitzaci\u00f3,\u00a0va assenyalar &#8220;aquest guard\u00f3 ens animar\u00e0 a seguir la lluita per la just\u00edcia i la igualtat, aix\u00ed mateix ens donar\u00e0 l&#8217;esperan\u00e7a necess\u00e0ria per crear moltes hist\u00f2ries d&#8217;\u00e8xit en les Am\u00e8riques &#8220;.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: 10pt;\">Cejil va ser fundat el 1991 a Caracas, Vene\u00e7uela, per un grup de defensores i defensors de Drets Humans (DH) que treballen temes de drets civils, pol\u00edtics, econ\u00f2mics, socials, culturals i drets de grups o col.lectius en situaci\u00f3 de vulnerabilitat (dones, nenes, nens, pobles ind\u00edgenes, defensores i defensors, entre d&#8217;altres).\u00a0 Compta amb oficines a Washington, EU, San Jos\u00e9, Costa Rica; Rio de Janeiro, el Brasil i Buenos Aires Argentina.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: 10pt;\">Cejil va litigar, entre altres, en el cas conegut com &#8220;Campo Algodonero&#8221;, a Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez, on van ser trobats el novembre de 2001, els cossos de vuit dones. Per tres dels vuit casos, la Cort Interamericana de Drets Humans (CoIDH) va emetre una sent\u00e8ncia contra l&#8217;Estat mexic\u00e0 per feminicidi.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>Krsticevic<\/strong> va dir que els fons del premi s&#8217;invertiran en el litigi estrat\u00e8gic de Cejil en l&#8217;hemisferi, la incid\u00e8ncia davant el Sistema Interameric\u00e0 de Drets humans i la capacitaci\u00f3 de defensores i defensors de Drets Humans a la regi\u00f3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: 10pt;\">La cerim\u00f2nia del premi va ser encap\u00e7alada per <strong>Susan Herbst<\/strong>, presidenta de la Universitat de Connecticut, i el senador Christopher J. Dodd.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: 10pt;\">Aquest premi s&#8217;atorga cada dos anys per part d&#8217;aquesta universitat a una persona o grup que hagi realitzat un important esfor\u00e7 per promoure la causa de la just\u00edcia internacional dels drets humans.\u00a0El nom del premi s&#8217;atribueix a Thomas J. Dodd, advocat litigant en els judicis de Nuremberg, Alemanya, a finals de la Segona Guerra Mundial, i senador per Connecticut des de 1959 fins al 1971.
